Good day Hockey Enthusiasts,

Here is an update for you on what I've been up to...

Today (June 26) I;m meeting with Chocolay twsp supervisor Greg Seppanen about the rink project in Chocolay Twsp. on M-28. I will report back tomorrow on the results of that meeting.

July 23rd I will be addressing the Marquette Noon Rotary club located at the Holiday Inn of Marquette. I feel this could be benneficial in possibly gaining both support and financing for our little project. If anyone wants to go along and hold my hand for encouragment that would be great.

501c3 status....Its still a way off.  I never imagined how many hoops! But, I'm jumping through them, one at a time.

I may have secured some 2nd hand rink materials from a local rink. All I have to do is pick the stuff out of their trash. I'm not too proud to pick good stuff out of someone elses trash, especially if it good useable stuff. I'll send more on that subject later as well.

We need to start thinking about putting a board together, as well as putting together work groups. Also, start thinking about fund raisers.

There you have it.  The ball is rolling, please help me keep it going!

I'll be in touch soon.

Bill

Greetings,

First of all, let me apologize for not picking up this ball and running with it sooner. I really have no good reason other than I probably am one of the worlds best procrastinaters. I'll finish the rest of this e-mail later.:)

Here is a little update as to what is happening so far.  First, try going to www.mcoha.com.  Pretty cool ay!  Web site compliments of Pat Morrisey....great job. As of 4-24-2007 we have had 126 people volunteer or sign up to be involved. Personally I think that is a pretty good number, and I am sure we are only beginning to scratch the surface. I'm sure there are alot more out there who know nothing about what is going on.

I would like to schedule another meeting for May 7th at 7:00p.m. at the commons building in downtown Marquette. I need everyones help to really make things happen over the next few months before the snow flies again.  If you have recieved this please RSVP as to your ability to attend otherwise I will be calling people to ask them to attend.

I have contacted officials from Marquette, Marquette twsp. and Chocolay twsp so far with the most positive results coming from Chocolay so far. I'm going to be meeting with the haed of Chocolays department of public works to discuss a potential location.  I think at the very least they will allow us to take over their current location at Lyons Feild on M-28 which we can discuss further at our meeting.

I have also made a contact with Erik Laitinen from Houghton, where they have an organization very similar to what we are trying to do. I am thinking about going to a spagetti dinner they are putting on to get educated on what is working for them and has not.

Once again, May 7, 7:00p.m. Commons in downtown Marquette.  We need people to get involved and step up to the plate. I hope to so you there.

Sincerely

Bill Kiple
